Four former Southeastern Conference women's basketball players will participate in the Boost Mobile WNBA All-Star 2014 Game, which will take place at US Airways Center in Phoenix on Saturday. The game will be nationally televised by ESPN with tip-off set for 3:30 p.m. ET.
Former Tennessee standouts Tamika Catchings (Indiana Fever) and Candace Parker (Los Angeles Sparks) have been selected as starters for the Eastern Conference and Western Conference teams, respectively. Former LSU star Seimone Augustus (Minnesota Lynx) and recent Tennessee standout Glory Johnson (Tulsa Shock) are reserves for the Western Conference team.
The SEC has had great success in the WNBA as twenty-five former SEC players made WNBA opening-day rosters in 2014, including three rookies, and the SEC also has five former women's basketball players serving in WNBA coaching roles.
