As teams prepare for the 2014 college football season to kick off next month, SEC schools are also looking to future seasons and scheduling new nonconference matchups. The Alabama Crimson Tide, Georgia Bulldogs, Mississippi State Bulldogs, Tennessee Volunteers and Vanderbilt Commodores have all set matchups with nonconference opponents as far out as 2021. Here is a breakdown of future matchups to look forward to.

Alabama Crimson Tide vs. University of Southern California Trojans - September 3, 2016

This season opener will be held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and is the eighth annual Cowboys Classic. The Tide has played five previous neutral site regular season games under Nick Saban and has two more scheduled over the next two years.

Auburn Tigers vs. Clemson Tigers - September 3, 2016 and September 9, 2017

Auburn and Clemson will play a home-and-home series, with Auburn hosting in 2016 before traveling to Clemson in 2017. Auburn and Clemson have met 49 times in football, with Auburn holding a 34-13-2 advantage. The two programs last met in 2012.

Georgia Bulldogs vs. Notre Dame Fighting Irish - September 9, 2017 and September 21, 2019

The Bulldogs and Fighting Irish will play in South Bend in 2017 and in Athens in 2019. The two teams have met once before, when a Georgia victory in the 1981 Sugar Bowl capped an undefeated, untied season and secured a consensus national championship.

Mississippi State Bulldogs vs. NC State Wolfpack - September 12, 2020 and September 11, 2021

In this future home-and-home series, Mississippi State and NC State will meet in Raleigh in 2020 and in Starkville in 2021. The Wolfpack lead the all-time series, 3-2, but the two programs have not met since the 1995 Peach Bowl when NC State defeated MSU in Atlanta.

Mississippi State Bulldogs vs. Kansas State Wildcats - 2018 and 2019

The Bulldogs will travel to Manhattan, Kansas, in 2018 to play the Wildcats and Kansas State will travel to Starkville in 2019. Dates of the games have not been announced. The discussion of scheduling the home-and-home series began on Twitter with KSU athletic director John Currie challenging Mississippi State to come play in Manhattan and a deal was agreed upon a few hours later.

Tennessee Volunteers vs. West Virginia Mountaineers - September 1, 2018

Tennessee lines up against West Virginia for their first time ever to open the 2018 season in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Mountaineer matchup marks the third of four neutral site games for the Volunteers. They open the 2015 season against UAB at LP Field in Nashville and in 2016 will "Battle at Bristol" against the Virginia Tech Hokies.

Texas A&M Aggies vs. University of Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns - September 16, 2017

Texas A&M University and the University of Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns announced a non-conference football game scheduled for Sept. 16, 2017 in College Station at newly redeveloped Kyle Field. The Ragin' Cajuns, defending Sun Belt Conference champions, last met the Aggies in 2006 with Texas A&M coming away with a 51-7 victory.

Vanderbilt Commodores vs. Houston Cougars - October 10, 2015 and October 2, 2021

Vanderbilt may have an edge in this home-and-home series after a 41-24 victory over Houston in the only previous meeting of the two teams at the 2014 BBVA Compass Bowl earlier this year.
