Eight players from SEC soccer programs have been named to the Missouri Athletic Club's (MAC) Hermann Trophy Watch List, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced.
The MAC Hermann Trophy is the most prestigious individual award presented to a player in NCAA soccer. Of the 35 players on the 2014 Watch List, South Carolina's Sabrina D'Angelo is one of four who were semifinalists last season. Florida, Kentucky, Tennessee and Texas A&M also had players named to this year's list.
Near the end of the collegiate regular season, NCAA Division I coaches that are NSCAA members will vote on their top choices and the list will be narrowed down to the top 15. From that pool, three finalists will be chosen for the women's award. The winner will be announced Jan. 9, 2015 at the Missouri Athletic Club.
